Who: The European, Asian and African empires who became linked through trade and travel.
What: The use of tools on trade and travel greatly impacted these empires by allowing them to expand and increase their prosperity.
When: The Age of Exploration, from about 1400 C.E.-1700 C.E.
Where: The Europeans established trade routes across the Atlantic Ocean to North and South America, down to Africa, and around to Asia and the Indian Ocean trading posts.
Why: Technology and innovation (especially in regards to tools) allowed Europeans to expand the prosperity of their empire, thus increasing its power in the world. Also, navigating the waters allowed people to map out the world.
How: Certain tools allowed Europe to sail across oceans easier and faster, with more definite directions to wherever they were going. These tools allowed for faster travel and more productive trade routes, thus linking the world on a level never seen before.
