AGMSPRITE Conclusion
In terms of (art), photography was by far the most influential media during the last half of the 20th century. Below is an example of the US' bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. Photos such as this allowed the general public to be able to view the destruction first hand, which is a perfect example of how globalization changed the way people interact with each other in the post-modern world.
(Geography) played a huge role in the development of tribal conflicts in Darfur as well as Rwanda. The desertification and climate change of the past forty years could be called the catalyst for much of the fighting that ensued since that time. Furthermore, the effects of globalization on the environment are particularly obvious when considering hydroelectric dams and CO2 emissions.
(Military) action was fueled and/or sparked by environmental factors in both Darfur and Rwanda. It was also the root cause of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for obvious reasons. Increased globalization has led to much more destructive capabilities for warfare, as well as the ability to completely obliterate the surrounding environment with nuclear weapons.
One could argue that (social) conflicts were the REAL reason behind the War in Darfur. Furthermore, social values greatly impact how "green" a particular area is in terms of sustainability and pollution.
Again, (political) unrest has been attributed as one of the causes of the conflict in Darfur. Also notable is it that the decision of President Truman to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was primarily that of a POLITICAL figure.
Islam as a (religion) had an enormous impact on the events of Darfur, seeing as 70% of the people of Sudan are Muslim. Additionally, 25% practice animism, and 5% practice Christianity. A common misconception is that the War in Darfur was an issue of Christians vs. Muslims, when in reality there were both religions represented on both sides.
(Intellectually), President Truman had an incredibly difficult decision when it came time to drop the bomb on Japan. Not only was logic a major contributing factor, but also ethics and emotion.
(Technology) allowed for invention of the atomic bomb, but it was also a technological error that led to the the disaster in Chernobyl.
The (economy) of the US flourished after WWII because of all the owed debt of European countries to the Americans. This is a direct result of globalization in the modern world.
